MY JOURNEY

I have been with Linemarkers for two years now starting as a Linemarker and then
being promoted to the dual role. Prior to being here, I was a Trades Assistant on a building site and before that I was doing a training role. When I lived in New Zealand I mostly had an office but when I moved to Australia I decided that I want to get out of the office and do something different.

“It is the people and the travel; it’s just something different”

MY ADVICE FOR ASPIRING LINEMARKERS

It will help if you are a bit physically fit for this role, you don’t need to be at the gym
every day but you do need to be able to cope with a lot of walking. It’s good to know of the hours because it can be sporadic sometimes with shifts. There is lots of energy in our team and we need to be adaptable.

MICHELLE | LINE MARKER AND
CUSTOMER RELATIONS

I have a dual role, working as a Linemarker for half the week and as a Customer
Relations Officer for the rest. As a Customer Relations Officer, I help out with business development and travel a lot to meet with clients to provide them with quotes for the services that they need.

WHAT I LOVE MOST ABOUT LINEMARKERS

Mainly for me, it is the team. It is the people and the travel and just the different
experiences every day. I love that the team always has time to talk…and I love listening to people speak about their past and their experiences in life. I just get lost in their words. I also like that we work through to Saturdays so we can get Sundays and
Mondays. Saturdays aren’t usually that big so it feels like I get a sort of three-day weekend every week to spend more of my time with my family and on our boat,
fishing.
