Training for our Line Markers

At Linemarkers South East Queensland, we are proud to say that we encourage and support our line markers to all achieve a Certificate III in Civil Construction RII30915.   In our industry, qualifications are not mandatory, so anyone can turn up to quote, regardless of their experience or training.

Four of our line markers have this qualification and three others are working towards it.  This training covers areas such as

  • carrying out measurements and calculations,
  • read and interpret plans and job specifications,
  • work safely and follow WHS policies and procedures,
  • maintain site records
  • as well as more specific line marking operation subjects.

Training includes book work as well as on site training and assessment.  In the photo below trainer Mark from www.currenttraining.edu.au is onsite assessing some of our crew at work.

All this means that when you engage Linemarkers South East Queensland, you can be satisfied that the crew will know what they are doing and will do it to a high standard.

If you would like a free quotation for line marking in car parks, factories and warehouses, signage, wheel stops, speed humps or modular safety rails, please call our office on 07 3277 2448.

Company Logo Line Marking in Car Parks

Line marking a company logo is a brilliant way to add identity and ownership by that company to its allocated car parks.  Too often businesses are frustrated by a lack of car parking spaces available for their clients during busy times.  Why?  Visitors to the site tend to park in any vacant parking bay, whether they are coming to see your company or not.

How to Achieve Company Ownership of Car Parks?

Make a bright, bold and clear message to anyone that these car parking spaces are for your business only.  How?  Stencil your company logo in your car parks.  At Linemarkers South East Queensland we team up with Shapemakers at www.theshapemakers.com .  Shapemakers will expertly manufacture a stencil with as much information as you require on your car park.   Linemarkers South East Queensland will paint it in your chosen colours.

Multiple car parks with corporate logos stand out vibrantly whether with a splash of colour as with Mates 4 Mates to the left  or simple white on black background here on the right.  Other standout colour combos include yellow on black, black on white, red on white.

Even your name without the logo or multiple colours might be all you need to get your car parking message across.

As always, Linemarkers South East Queensland will advise on the proper preparation of the surface to be painted.  If you look at the Medical + Rescue Vehicles photo above right, you will note that the concrete is paler around the stencil area than the road way.  This is because Linemarkers South East Queensland has water blasted the area to be painted a few days previously.  We do this to remove black mould and grime from the concrete.  Removal of these contaminants will improve the life of your paint.

Line Marking Projects – How You Can Prepare

You are project managing the line marking for your organisation and the booking with Linemarkers South East Queensland has been made.  Now for action stations.  Communication and preparation are key elements to ensure a smooth running and successful job.  To help you, here is a short list of ‘do’s’ and one significant ‘don’t’ to help achieve this outcome.

Communication – ‘Why can’t I park my car in my spot today?’

Do let people know when the line marking is happening and how long it will take.  Linemarkers South East Queensland will book your job as far in advance as feasible and will call you the day before to confirm these details.  To ensure pedestrian safety, our crew will cordon off areas to be painted.  If the Managing Director can’t park the day of the job in your car park because no one told him/her the line marking was happening, you may have some explaining to do!

Preparation – ‘You want what line marking where?’

If possible, do have yourself or someone from your organisation (who knows exactly what you want) available to be on site when the line marking is undertaken.  Linemarkers South East Queensland’s crew always have detailed job instructions, plans and safe work method statements on site, but this is your project and our crew want to achieve your vision accurately and beautifully.

Preparation – ‘Get those pallets moved now!”

Do make every effort to have the area to be line marked clear.  This will ensure an efficient line marking process. On the day, having a truck load of pallets delivered just where you want your pedestrian walk way or forklift parking area will be frustrating for everyone and seriously slow things down.

Preparation – ‘Let’s hose off the area before they arrive’

No, please don’t!  When quoting, Linemarkers South East Queensland will assess what surface preparation is required for your job, discuss this with you, and will undertake this appropriately before the line marking begins.  Sweeping away debris is fine, but if you hose off the area on the day of the line marking, the surface will be wet. Moisture and line marking paint do not play well together so sadly, the job will have to be postponed.

If you would like any further information about your next line marking project and for a free quote, please call the office on 07 3277 2448.  We look forward to hearing from you.
